Damon Albarn set to be the headline act
Damon Albarn is all set to be the headline performer at the very first festival arranged by BBC Radio 6 Music. The Blur lead singer is set to release his debut solo album in this 2 day event that would take place in Manchester’s Victoria Warehouse.
Thirty music artists, including Haim, Kelis, Jake Bugg and The National would perform across 2 stages at the gig that would happens 28th February 28 and 1st March. The event which includes some DJ sets from Don Letts and Craig Charles, is made to bring together music artists and bands, who share the alternative spirit of the network.
Tickets for the event would cost £ 25, held in the United Kingdom’s biggest nightclub, along with a capacity of five thousand people. A free fringe festival bunking in the same festival would include a photographic exhibition and talk session and also bring together record shops from all over United Kingdom.
Live acts would be telecasted on 6 Music, streamed for tablet, desktop as well as mobile viewing and also made available on BBC Red Button. Peter Salmon, the director BBC North, stated that the North West music scene is eclectic and vibrant, with Manchester and BBC Radio 6 Music at its heart. They are very thrilled the network’s inaugural festival with its imaginative program is based here as well as shared with the country.
