Lionel Richie’s name has been confirmed for the Glastonbury Festival 2015. It would be the very first UK festival gig of the singer’s career. Glastonbury Festival’s official Twitter page said: “We’re pleased to announce that @LionelRichie will make his first ever UK festival appearance at Glastonbury 2015!”
According to reports, Richie told that he is really very excited to play at the Glastonbury music festival next year as it is one of the most iconic fests in the world. The event has a magnificent history and the alumni of artists who have earlier played is really incredible. Therefore, he is honored to be a part of that.
He added that it would be a very special moment for him and he could not wait to share this with everyone. He could now say that he is playing at Glastonbury. Reports suggest that Richie would play the Sunday afternoon space that was earlier taken by artists such as Paul Simon and Kenny Rogers.
In the 2014 fest, Dolly Parton took the spot attracting a huge crowd to her space. Earlier Lionel Richie stated that he finds fest crowds just fascinating, because it is wild, loose and loud. The ‘Dancing on the Ceiling’ star also declared that he is bringing the All The Hits All Night Long tour to United Kingdom and Ireland for eleven dates.
